Description
Carolina Reaper: Capsicum chinense; 1.8 to 2.2 million SHU Known to be 400 times spicier than a jalapeno pepper, the “Carolina Reaper” is rightly feared as the 2nd hottest pepper in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records. With fiery, bumpy fruits 5 to 7.5 cm long and bearing a distinctive “scorpion tail”, the pods have a fruity flavor (if you can detect it in the heat!). Perhaps for the novelty factor and/or for drying and later adding to sauces and dishes, this bell pepper is certainly best when used sparingly, as a little goes a long way. Pick your peppers once they turn red and always wear gloves when handling the pods. handle with gloves and goggles
