Capsicum chinense ‘Charapita’ is a wild variety from Peru, a cross between Capsicum chinense and Capsicum frutescens or Cayenne pepper. It has a distinctive, fruity, hot flavor. In cooking, Aji Charapita pepper is particularly useful for spicing up sauces and other dishes. However, it can also be macerated in lemon and a little oil.
